Dan Hyland joined Ancora in June of 2012 as Director of Mutual Fund Distribution. In October of 2013, he was promoted to Managing Director, Business Development. In this role Dan oversees all aspect of Business Development and Distribution, including Private Client, Institutional and Mutual Funds.
His investment career began in the early 1990’s with McDonald & Company/KeyBanc Capital Markets focusing on Institutional Equity Sales. His responsibilities included providing stock research and analysis to Portfolio Managers. He worked closely with in house analysts to develop relationships with institutional investors. Dan’s interest in small cap companies led him to think about serving his customer base in a more unique fashion. The small cap market had considerably less resources dedicated to it at the time. To fill this gap in services, Dan started Hyland Investor Services, Inc in 2008. A major component of his work at Hyland was to originate, coordinate and conduct high level meetings for small cap public company management teams to meet with institutional investors in the Midwest region. Investors received a great deal of benefit from these meetings that were targeted towards their particular investment strategy. From 2010-2012, Dan worked at Hudson Securities/Rodman & Renshaw in Institutional Equity Sales. Dan’s ability to deliver relevant stock ideas and meetings allowed him to garner top market shares with his respective clients.
Dan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Dayton. He holds the Series 7, Series 24 and Series 63 licenses.
