Mr. Chadwick began working with Ancora in 2014. His primary responsibilities are Portfolio Management and Research for the firm's Alternative Investments.
Mr. Chadwick has over 15 years of investment experience working in the shareholder activist arena, with a focus on micro and small cap companies. His activist engagements include operating companies, banks, closed-end funds, and a wide array of industries. He has served on the board of five public companies as a result of activist intervention.
Prior to joining Ancora, Mr. Chadwick was the Managing Director of the private equity firm Harlingwood Equity Partners, LLC. Prior to Harlingwood, James founded and managed two activist hedge funds, PCI Partners LLC and Monarch Activist Partners LP. He began his activist career in 1999 working for the pioneering activist fund Relational Investors LLC. At Relational he participated in the fund’s activist investments in Aetna, Inc., Prudential, National Semiconductor, Mattel, Dial, Sovereign Bancorp., among others.
Mr. Chadwick is currently a board member of Special Opportunities Fund, Inc. (NYSE – SPE) and Imperial Holdings, Inc. (NYSE – IFT). He received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of California Los Angeles.
